Resources for Physicians

COVID-19 has resulted in changes to health care that are challenging for physicians
and their practices. Jupiter Medical Center has resources to help.

Providing Physicians
the Help They Need

Today, as always, it’s vitally important that physicians can focus on doing what
they do best – taking care of their patients, and ensuring patients receive the
care they need for conditions that impact their health and quality of life.

But the cancellation or postponement of many medical procedures and services
as a result of COVID-19 is placing significant financial strain on our nation’s
physicians and physician practices. Physicians have many people relying on
them, including their staff.

Jupiter Medical Center is here to help guide physicians through this challenging
time. To assist medical practices in the Palm Beach County and Treasure Coast
regions, we are providing resources to help physicians navigate potential
sources of relief funding and coordinate the rescheduling of elective
procedures.

Dedicated Jupiter Medical
Center Team Member To Help
Physicians Secure Relief
Funding

Our team member can help
physicians and their staff
optimize the available benefits
recently enacted by Congress
to ensure they receive all of
the relief funds they are
eligible for, and allowing
physicians to spend their time
on patient care. The programs
that we will be evaluating
include the Coronavirus Aid,
Relief and Economic Security
(CARES) Act, Payroll
Protection Program (PPP) and
Emergency Economic Disaster
Loans (EIDL).

We have a dedicated
team member who is
available to assist
physicians and their staff
with evaluating the
stimulus funds and
programs available from
federal, state and local
governments.

Supporting Physicians
in Resuming Care

The expiration of the Executive Order scheduled for May 9th related to
medical procedures offers physicians the opportunity to return to
serving the needs of those in our community who have been patiently
waiting to reschedule their procedures.
Surgeries that significantly
impact the quality of our
patients lives include
cardiovascular surgeries,
pediatric surgeries,
gynecological surgeries,
orthopedic surgical procedures
such as as hip and knee
replacements, and spinal
surgeries. While technically
deemed “elective,” we know
that these procedures and
many others are crucial to
allowing patients to live
healthier, and potentially
longer, lives.
Jupiter Medical Center is well
prepared to resume these
potentially life-changing elective
procedures, while continuing to
care for COVID-19 and bring most
effective and innovative
treatments, such as convalescent
plasma therapy, to our patients
with coronavirus.

To help lead our COVID
recovery efforts, Jupiter Medical
Center welcomes Dr. Nicholas
Lezama, MD, MPH, CPE, an
emergency physician and
disaster response and recovery
expert. Dr. Lezama will work
within our organization to
coordinate with physicians and
other clinical personnel as we
resume serving more patients in
the coming months.

Proactive
Patient
Outreach for
Rescheduling

Jupiter Medical Center’s
patient navigators and
scheduling department
representatives are working
proactively to reach out to
patients to reschedule
procedures that were
postponed or cancelled. We
have also provided patients
with a scheduling
point-of-contact for each of
our departments, along with
continually updated
information about available
services, procedures and
surgeries.

Our patient navigators and
schedulers will reach out
to surgeons and other
providers to reschedule
medically necessary and
elective procedures.
Please feel free to contact
us for assistance with
scheduling.

Reassuring Our
Patients In Need
of Care

Patients need to feel confident that Jupiter Medical Center is taking all of the necessary precautions to safeguard their health and that of our team members when they come here for medical procedures.

As the #1 ranked hospital for quality, safety and patient satisfaction, Jupiter Medical Center has a long-standing reputation of providing the highest quality care in our region. To respond to COVID, we have implemented rigorous infection prevention and safety procedures. These include limiting access for visitors, screening every patient, team member, physician and supplier prior to entry, and adhering CDC guidelines for the use of personal protective equipment. We have also increased our already exhaustive cleaning and disinfecting procedures, including using Tru-D SmartUVC ultra-violet disinfection robots and continual cleaning of all patient and staff member areas by our environmental services team.
